ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Grace United Church has been woven into the fabric of Weyburn for more than a century. The congregation’s roots go back to the early 1900s, when a small Methodist church—known simply as the Wesleyan Church—was built on the site of today’s sanctuary.

In 1925, the congregation became part of the United Church of Canada, adopting the name “Grace United Church.”

Over time, the building evolved: a new hall was completed in 1950, and further expansions in the 1960s and 1980s added a sanctuary, balcony, Sunday School space, choir rooms, and offices.

Throughout its history, Grace United has continued to grow—not just in size, but in its commitment to inclusivity and community.

In 2018, the congregation officially became an Affirming church, dedicated to welcoming all people.

Today, Grace United remains a vibrant, loving, and active spiritual home in the heart of Weyburn.
